Questions About Our Web Site:

What are the benefits to me of being a registered user of your website?

As a registered user, you will be able to check on your orders online for shipping dates, shipping charges, etc. It will also save you from having to enter your shipping information each time you order. For your security we do not store your payment information.

Why don't I see the larger image when I click on the thumbnail in your catalog?

The larger images are in pop-up windows, enabling you to see both parents at the same time, or compare two flowers, etc. If you have a pop-up blocker, or pop-ups disabled in your browser, you will not be able to see these images. Most browser and popup blockers offer you the option of allowing pop-up for specific web sites. You may feel safe allowing pop-ups from our site, as we will never place any advertising or other annoying material in our pop-up windows.

Why must I have cookies enabled to shop & use my account features?

Due to the way the internet works, this is the only way to "remember" who you are and what you are ordering while you are visiting our site. The cookies we use are session cookies, and only remain as long as your browser is open. When you close your browser, the cookie is destroyed.

Why are there no shipping charges listed on your site?

We ship within the United States by US Priority Mail, and charge you only what the post office charges us. There just is no good, accurate way to estimate what the shipping cost will be before we actually pack the order.

Do you ship outside of the United States?

If we can, we will. Send us an email with your exact shipping address and we will let you know if it is possible.

Questions About Our Flasks and Products:

How many plants are in a flask, and how many of those will be big enough to plant out?

Unless otherwise noted in the description, each flask is planted to contain a minimum of 20 viable seedlings, and almost all with have more. All of the seedlings in the flask should be big enough to plant out. Because we do not replate into hobby flasks until the plants are well established, there is no culling necessary when planting them out.

I found a flask listed on your catalog I wanted, but when I came back later to order it, I couldn't find it. Do you have any more?

Drop us an and ask! Let us know the cross number or parentage of what you are looking for and we will be glad to let you know if we still have it or will have it again soon.

Do you really use a GLOVE BOX?

Yes, we really do! Now for your next question: Because for us it works. We live in an area of very high humidity almost year round, and would never be able to maintain the type of clean room necessary for success with a laminar flow hood. We have been using glove boxes for many years, and have refined our design to where it is as efficient as other methods.

Can you tell me what will be available in the next ?? months?

Probably not. We know what we have that we hope to have available soon, but until it is actually in hobby flasks, or at least ready to go into hobby flasks, we just don't like to make promises. We would rather surprise you than disappoint you!

Should I cut the flower spike off my plant when the flowers die?

Yes for everything except phalaenopsis. If the stem of the spike is still green, and you would like more blooms, cut it right below the lowest flower. It is possible that the nodes below the flowers will produce side branches and more flowers. If the stem turns brown, or if the plant is not healthy, then you should cut the stem just above the base.

Why don't I see more crosses you have named?

In order to name a cross you have made, you must first bloom it. Unfortunatly, we have often in the past sold all the flasks we had of most of our crosses, so we never bloomed them ourselves. We hope you will, in the future, see more crosses we have named.
